Maintain the standard.

Check the product standard against the ENEC scope and the chosen body’s capabilities. A luminaire, driver and connector may require separate assessment decisions even when they form one installed system. Define the final product, component approvals and intended conditions of use before preparing a quotation request.

• List ratings, environmental conditions and model variations.

Provide drawings, wiring information, critical component details and the intended marking. Include alternate suppliers at the outset so they can be considered as part of the evaluation. A clear comparison between variants helps the certification body decide which constructions need samples and testing.

• Identify insulation systems, protective devices and accessible materials.

ENEC uses approved testing laboratories and defined arrangements for eligible manufacturer facilities. The test programme follows the relevant European standard and product construction. Resolve any nonconformities through documented changes and appropriate reassessment; a component approval is useful evidence but does not automatically certify the finished product.

• Keep the final tested configuration distinct from early prototypes.

Factory assessment examines the controls needed to reproduce the certified construction. Prepare incoming component checks, routine test instructions, equipment records and handling of nonconforming units. Walk through the actual production flow so paperwork, operators and retained records describe the same process.

• Assign authority for release of marked products.

The ENEC mark is used only for the products and conditions authorised by the certification body. Verify the licence scope and approved artwork before printing labels or updating catalogues. ENEC safety certification and ENEC+ performance certification are distinct; claims should identify what has actually been assessed.

• Keep marketing descriptions aligned with the certificate.

The scheme includes continuing factory surveillance and product checks. Notify the certification body before changes that could affect the approved construction, such as a new power supply, insulation material or factory. Maintain a change log showing the decision and any revised documentation or tests.

• Track standards updates and correspondence with the licence issuer.
