GOST-R is commonly used in trade discussions for Russian national standards and associated conformity documents. It should not be treated as a universal current approval route. The relevant product may instead fall under an EAEU technical regulation, a Russian national requirement or a voluntary certification arrangement.
Russia maintains national lists for products subject to mandatory certification or declaration where applicable, including under Government Resolution No. 2425 as amended. Those lists and transition provisions need a current product-specific check. A legacy certificate alone cannot establish today’s requirements for a new shipment.
