Make recycled content traceable.

Clarify whether the customer wants recycled-content chain of custody or additional processing requirements. RCS and GRS should not be presented as interchangeable. Record the intended product, material composition and commercial claim before selecting the scope of an assessment.

Identify the parties providing recycled inputs and the evidence relevant to their role. Check that descriptions on purchase orders, supplier documents and receiving records agree. An unclear source description can become a claim problem several stages later in the supply chain.

Design a practical system for identification, storage, processing and reconciliation. Staff should know how to handle substitutions or mixed stock before an unsupported claim reaches a sales document. Use an example order to test whether the records tell a consistent story.

An RCS claim concerns recycled material; it does not establish compliance with unrelated workplace or chemical requirements. Submit product-related claims through the required certification-body approval process. Plan artwork around the applicable policy and eligibility criteria, rather than assuming a logo can be copied from a supplier.
