A prepared path to import.

Determine which compulsory Uganda standard applies to the product and whether the consignment belongs in the PVoC programme. Confirm any exception through the proper official channel. A customs classification can assist the review but should not replace a technical product description.

UNBS appoints inspection companies to operate programme activities. Provider appointments and geographic coverage can change. Verify the current authorized arrangement directly before booking work rather than treating an older public notice as a permanent provider list.

Gather technical specifications, available laboratory reports and label information. For product families, distinguish cosmetic variants from changes that affect safety or performance. Ask the assessment party to confirm whether existing evidence is adequate for the goods being supplied.

Inspection readiness requires accessible goods and a reliable link between samples and the shipment. Agree the location, documentation and contact person in advance. Keep a record of any discrepancy and how it was resolved before shipment evidence is finalized.

UNBS identifies the CoC as a basis for release on arrival. Review its relationship to the commercial invoice, packing details and product record. It does not remove the need for customs procedures or other permissions applying to the product.

Maintain a current technical dossier and a separate checklist for each consignment. We help coordinate evidence review, document consistency and corrective responses. Changes in supplier, construction or intended use should be assessed before old evidence is reused.
