Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada regulates radio apparatus and related equipment. Category I radio equipment requires certification under the applicable procedure and listing in the Radio Equipment List. Other equipment can follow different conformity routes.
A Canadian radio assessment should reflect the complete marketed configuration, including antennas, firmware and host integration. FCC approval or a certified module can provide useful background, but neither automatically resolves every Canadian requirement for a finished wireless product.
